Will the Nikon D600 Be the Full Frame Successor to the D700? [Cameras]

Nikon Rumors has people telling them that the heir apparent to the Nikon D700—the full frame DSLR which went toe-to-toe with the Canon 5D MK II)—could arrive this summer and will be called the Nikon D600. Next to no specs were offered up by this anonymous source, except that it will be an "entry level" full frame camera with dual SD card slots, auto DX crop and baked in support for RAW editing and time lapse creation. James Cameron-backed Planetary Resources to search the universe for Unobtainum

Image

Planetary Resources will reportedly announce later today that it's developing and selling low-cost spacecraft to mine asteroids close to the Earth. The space exploration and natural resources venture is led by X-Prize creator Peter Diamandis and NASA's former Mars chief, Eric Anderson -- with cash backing from James Cameron, Eric Schmidt and Larry Page amongst others. Within a decade, the company hopes to kickstart a 21st century gold rush by selling orbiting observation platforms to prospectors with significant rewards -- a 30-meter long asteroid could hold as much as $50 billion worth of platinum at today's prices. The company's own teaser materials promised that the project would add "trillions of dollars" to the world's GDP, which sounds like a film we saw recently.

MrsMamaHen.com: Military Monday - a Special Post (with Linky Party)

I have a special post to share with you today for Military Monday. This is Olivia, who is an Army Wife stationed in Hawaii. She is also a talented artist. Half of all the proceeds from this song are being donated to the Fisher House Foundation. If you are not familiar with Fisher House, it is an organization that helps provide a "home away from home" for families of ill or injured soldiers, so they can be with them. It is a very worthy cause, and close to my heart.

""There You Go Again" is a song I wrote for military wives who (like me) have endured countless deployments and separations. No actors were used in this video - only active duty Army soldiers & their families preparing for deployments at the time of filming."

More on this story

And while you are here - check out my take on "Army Wives" - the book that inspired the TV show.

Review: HTC One X Hard Shell Case with White Flip Stand

Android Central

Having seen the video of the HTC One X drop test, regardless of how well it stood up I decided it was time for a case. I'm not usually one for phone cases, but having dropped a cool £450 on this phone, I'm a little more protective of it.

So what did I settle on? An official HTC case for one, but this one combines screen protection, a hard shell, and a kick stand all into one. The HTC One X Hard Shell with White Flip Stand -- try saying that 10 times fast.
